          CHC33021 - Certificate III in Individual Support: Empowering Caregivers for Meaningful Connections

Introduction:

The course certificate reflects the role of workers in a community/ home who work with individualized plans to provide tailored support to people who need it due to ageing, disability, or other issues. The qualification makes one eligible to support their independence and well-being.

 Course Overview:

The course helps one achieve the foundational skills and knowledge to work in the disability support, aged care, and home and community care industries. One can learn how to provide the required care and support that ensure a safe, happy, and independent life for people.

Key Learning Objectives: 

1.Understand the fundamental principles and ethical considerations in the provision of individual support.

2.Gain knowledge of the physical and emotional needs of individuals requiring care and develop strategies to address them effectively.

3.Learn to support individuals with daily activities, including personal care, hygiene, and nutrition, promoting independence and well-being.

4.Develop effective communication skills to establish positive relationships and facilitate meaningful interactions with individuals and their families.

5.Acquire knowledge of common health conditions, disabilities, and aging processes to provide appropriate support and assistance.

6.Learn to recognize and respond to challenging behaviors, adapting approaches to promote a safe and supportive environment.

7.Understand the importance of documentation and reporting in maintaining accurate records of individual care and support.

Prior to undertaking a practical placement, you will be required to provide: 

Current Police Clearance (it must not be older than six months) or NDIS Worker Screening Check; and a current flu vaccination (unless exempt)
